Plain English. What we collect, what we don't, and what you can ask us to do.

The short version

TL;DR: Looty.in doesn't require sign-up. We don't ask for your name, phone, or address. Standard anonymous analytics run on the site. When you click a deal link, you're taken to Amazon/Flipkart/etc., and their privacy policies apply there — not ours.

1. Who we are

Looty.in ("we," "us," "our") is a deal curation website operated in India. You can reach us at hello@looty.in.

2. What we collect

We collect minimal data, and only what helps us understand if the site is working:

Anonymous analytics: page views, rough location (city-level, not street), browser type, referrer. No personal identifiers.
Server logs: your IP address is processed briefly by Netlify (our hosting provider) for security and delivery. We don't read or store these logs ourselves.
Cookies: a minimal essential cookie may be set for functionality (e.g., remembering preferences). We don't use tracking cookies or advertising pixels at present.

3. What we don't collect

Your name, email, phone, or address (we don't have signups).
Payment or financial information (all purchases happen on Amazon/Flipkart, not here).
Your browsing history outside looty.in.
Data from minors. This site is for adults making purchase decisions.

4. Third parties

When you click a deal link, you leave Looty.in and land on Amazon, Flipkart, or another retailer. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which govern what happens next. We do pass an affiliate tag so the retailer knows you came from us — this is how we earn our commission. It does not identify you personally.

We use the following third-party services:

Netlify — hosting and CDN.
Google Fonts — web fonts loaded on the page.
Amazon Associates Program — affiliate tracking for Amazon links.
Telegram — for our broadcast channel (optional; only if you join).

5. Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable laws, you have the right to ask us:

What information we have about you (usually none, but happy to confirm).
To correct anything that is wrong.
To erase any data we hold.
To withdraw consent for anything we're doing.

Write to hello@looty.in with your request. We'll respond within 30 days.

6. Children

Looty.in is not directed at children under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has shared information with us, email us and we'll delete it.

7. Security

The site runs over HTTPS. We don't store sensitive data, so there's not much to secure. Your payment and delivery information stays between you and the retailer.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change anything meaningful, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top and, for significant changes, announce it on our Telegram channel. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the new version.
